during a trip to WH Smith one day, kel found a book of things to do in London for under £10. 1000 things to keep you occupied on the cheap. the book itself was only £10 but of course we didn’t buy it
we’re too cheap for that! instead we went through it and picked out a couple of things to do and wrote them down for future reference. one of these things we found was a canal cruise from camden markets to little venice, so this is what we did one sunny afternoon.
i had an appointment in camden to get my NI number so i waited for kel to get to the markets. we then grabbed some lunch in the markets before going to get tickets for our canal cruise.
the boat was open on the sides offering a great view of everything we passed. the guide was fantastic and knew his stuff, giving us detailed info on the buildings and history as we went through the canal.

on a beautiful sunny day, there was nothing better than sitting back, listening to the commentary, enjoying the cruise. we went past heaps of house boats because people actually live on the canals throughout london – i guess it’s cheaper than paying rent. we glided past the zoo and saw the aviary and wild boar enclosures which back on to the canal. after the zoo we went passed regents park where there are few residences worth millions of pounds in the park and worth every penny from the looks of them! then we turned around and came back again.

a fabulous way to spend the afternoon. definitely worth the £8!
